Hi there. Today I thought I would share a page or two of my Key Plate Album with you. This little Chipboard album kit came in my Design team goodies last month. After some thought I decided to make it into a little keepsake of an overseas trip our daughter took last year.
First I painted the chipboard covers and pages, coloured the edges with a red ink pad and covered parts of the chipboard with left over pieces of lovely Offbeat Basic Grey papers.
Next, the problems began with which photos to choose, now this wee album only has six pages and the covers, but I had no trouble fitting in 30 small photos, most around the 31/2 X 4 “ size, and there is still room for more. I made lots of little pockets and packets and attached these to the chipboard pages, some I sewed into place, and others I glued or attached with punched holes and ribbons.
I laminated all of the photos so they can be handled without fare of damage. Dear daughter goes to boarding school so the album and contents needed to be ‘built tough’!
Lots of fun was had adding little embellishments, ribbon and travel quotes to the pages.
Be sure to check out Basic Grey’s Element stickers and Chipboard stickers, these are a marvel indeed. No fussing with little bits of tape or glue, they stick, and stay exactly where you place them.
To finish I added a final ribbon around the silver-plated key ring , that holds the pages together,to enable daughter dear to hang her album over her door handle or a hook.
Here is one page, with its little booklet closed
The same page opened.
And here are the photos stored inside.
And another page
Grab yourself one of these neat kits from the shop and let your creative flair run wild!
Have fun - Sonya
